Lifetime Ventures has announced that the Development Bank of Japan, Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd., Suntory Holdings Limited, Friends of OIST, and individual investors have participated in the latest closing of the OIST-Lifetime Ventures Fund, launched in April 2022 in collaboration with the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST).
Lifetime Ventures will continue to focus on bringing positive lifetime innovation to society and the environment, including and especially by implementing OIST’s research results, and will leverage Lifetime Ventures’ expertise to invest in deep-tech start-ups with the technical themes of OIST technologies.
Overview of OIST-Lifetime Ventures Fund
The OIST-Lifetime Ventures Fund aims to create deep tech solutions that have a significant impact on society by investing mainly in early-stage startups in OIST and overseas in the fields of Health & AgeTech (the integration of healthcare, medical care, nursing care, and aging with technology), Future of Work (the transformation of work using technology), Cross-border Japan (cross-border business utilizing technology and the internationalization of Japanese society), Sustainable Living (technology that realizes a harmonious life with the earth's environment), and Blue Economy (the development of a new marine industry that protects the health of the sea).
